Phuket Sandbox is a new Thailand-based model proposed by Thailand authorities in order to reopen the country for international tourists without the need for quarantine upon arrival. The decision to allow visitors to enter Thailand freely without quarantine is unprecedented. It means that fully- vaccinated travelers can enter Thailand with no need for quarantine. The program started on 1 July 2021 prior to Thai borders becomes fully reopened.
Who can enter the Sandbox?
We have been receiving a lot of queries from our visitors about the Phuket Sandbox and whether you can enter the Sandbox for kids under 18. The answer is yes! As the Phuket Sandbox is a great way for kids and teenagers to enjoy the beach and get to know the different cultures of Phuket, we will allow kids and teenagers between 6 and 18 years of age (Under 18) to enter the Phuket Sandbox. However, we will require that both parents and their children undergo a mandatory 2 PCR Tests on the first and the sixth day of the Sandbox.
What are the requirements for you to be granted entry to the Phuket sandbox?
Here are the following requirements you must comply with for the Phuket sandbox:
- Show proof of vaccination or vaccine certificate
- Undergone RT-PCR COVID 19 test before your arrival
- You must have a COVID-19 insurance
- You must have a Thailand Pass or Certificate of Entry that is issued by the Thai embassy.
- You should stay at a SHA+ certified hotel.
- You should have pre-paid RT- PCR COVID 19 test while still on the island

How does Phuket Sandbox work?
Phuket Sandbox will be a place to share and experience all the wonderful and breathtaking places and activities in and around Phuket and the surrounding area. Actually, the Phuket sandbox is a new kind of holiday. It is an extended stay holiday that lets you explore Phuket without having to leave the island. You are free to walk around the island, eat the local food, drink the local beer, swim in the ocean. However, it comes with 2 conditions:
- All visitors must be fully vaccinated
- You must spend the first 7 days on the island of Phuket. And then afterward, you are free to travel to other tourist destinations around Thailand.
If you are fully vaccinated, what are the accepted vaccines in Sandbox?
Proof of vaccination is one of the requirements in the Phuket sandbox. The said vaccine should have been given two weeks prior or not longer than a year before boarding a flight to this destination. Currently, Moderna, Sinovac Sinopharm, AstraZeneca, Pfizer, and Johnson & Johnson are the approved vaccines.
